Paul Herzel Signed Pompeian/Marion Bronze LARGE Pirate Lamp 26″

This listing is for a signed Paul Herzel PIRATE table lamp measuring overall approximately 26″ height from bottom of base to top of finial.Pirate figure itself measures approximately 12 1/4″ from the bottom of his boot to top of hat. Made with a bronze clad or electroplate process over a base filler material (of unknown type), and also factory painted over that plating. Lamp was tested and is working with original parts except NO SHADE and one of the pull cord chains is just missing a bell cap on the end. This shows some age and areas of paint loss. Believed to date to sometime between the 1940’s – 50’s but I cannot say for sure. Please do your own research on that. Paul Herzel (1876-1956) was a German-American sculptor and painter/artist. He is mostly known for his sculptures, many of which were sold to companies such as the Pompeian Bronze Company. The Pompeian Bronze company was formed by employees of the Galvano Bronze Company of New York City and some of the Pompeian Bronze Company molds were acquired by the Marion Bronze Company. The only marking I can find on this lamp is for Paul Herzel with a copyright symbol, so I am just not sure which company actually produced this. Selling as found and will need some cleaning and dusting plus your own lamp shade. This will be shipped with center lamp pole unscrewed and folded/hung over securely. You will just need to screw that back on upright ( no tools needed).
